The Status app on UniLink lets you display your current availability, mood, or a live update message on your link-in-bio page so visitors always know what you are up to right now.
What is the Status App?
The Status app is a real-time communication tool that shows a dynamic indicator on your UniLink page reflecting your current state. Think of it like the status dot on a messaging app, but for your public page. Freelancers use it to show whether they are available for new projects. Creators use it to share what they are currently working on. Businesses use it to broadcast special hours, upcoming launches, or service availability. It adds a human, real-time layer to what is otherwise a static page.
How to Enable the Status App
- Log in to your UniLink Dashboard
- Go to the Apps section
- Find Status and click Enable
- Set your current status message and availability indicator
Features and Configuration
- Status Indicator - Choose a color-coded availability status such as green for available, yellow for busy, or red for unavailable, with custom labels
- Status Message - Write a short custom message describing what you are currently doing, working on, or offering
- Emoji Support - Add expressive emojis to your status message to make it feel friendly and on-brand
- Scheduled Status Changes - Set up automatic status updates based on time of day or day of week for consistent availability communication
- Status History - Optionally display a log of recent status updates to show visitors a timeline of your activity
- CTA Button Integration - Pair your status with a direct link such as a booking page or contact form that is relevant to your current availability
Best Practices
- Update your status regularly: a stale or outdated status is worse than no status at all and can mislead visitors about your availability
- Use your status to create urgency when relevant, such as announcing limited availability, a live session, or a flash sale currently happening
- Keep status messages short and specific: "Taking new clients this month" is far more useful than a vague "Busy" label
