The Donation App on UniLink lets you collect charitable or cause-based contributions from your audience directly through your link-in-bio page.
What is the Donation App?
The Donation App is designed for creators, nonprofits, and individuals who want to collect contributions for a specific cause, project, or ongoing mission. Unlike the Tip Jar which focuses on casual support for your content, the Donation App is framed around giving to something meaningful — whether that is a charity drive, a community initiative, emergency relief, or a personal project with a defined goal. Donors can contribute freely and see the impact of their generosity.
How to Enable the Donation App
- Log in to UniLink Dashboard
- Go to Apps
- Select Donation and click Enable
- Describe your cause, set a goal amount if applicable, and connect your payout account
Features and Configuration
- Cause Description — Write a compelling explanation of what donations will fund to motivate visitors to give
- Goal Tracker — Set a fundraising target and display a live progress bar so donors can see the collective impact
- Preset Donation Tiers — Suggest specific amounts tied to tangible outcomes (e.g., 0 feeds one family for a day)
- Anonymous Giving Option — Allow donors to contribute without displaying their name publicly
- Donor Wall — Optionally showcase the names of contributors to recognize generosity and encourage others
- Donation Receipts — Automatically send confirmation emails to donors after each successful contribution
Best Practices
- Tell a specific, personal story about your cause — emotional clarity drives more donations than generic appeals
- Use the goal tracker and update it regularly to show momentum and create urgency among potential donors
- Thank donors publicly (with permission) on your social media to encourage others to contribute and to show accountability
