The File App on UniLink lets you share downloadable files directly on your link-in-bio page, giving your audience easy access to PDFs, guides, templates, and more.
What is the File App?
The File App makes it simple to distribute digital files from your UniLink page without relying on Dropbox, Google Drive, or other third-party storage links. Upload any file and visitors can download it with a single tap. It is perfect for coaches sharing workbooks, designers offering free templates, educators distributing course materials, or businesses providing product spec sheets and brochures.
How to Enable the File App
- Log in to UniLink Dashboard
- Go to the Apps section
- Find File and click Enable
- Upload your files and add titles and descriptions for each one
Features and Configuration
- Multiple File Formats — Upload PDFs, Word documents, Excel sheets, images, ZIP archives, and most common file types
- File Title and Description — Add a clear name and a short description for each file so visitors know exactly what they are downloading
- Download Counter — See how many times each file has been downloaded to measure popularity and engagement
- Email Gate Option — Require visitors to enter their email address before downloading, automatically building your mailing list
- Custom Button Label — Change the download button text from "Download" to something more descriptive like "Get Free Guide" or "Download Template"
- File Size Display — Optionally show the file size so visitors know what to expect before initiating a download
Best Practices
- Use the email gate for high-value resources to grow your list — free guides and templates work especially well as lead magnets
- Give files clear, descriptive names that include the benefit or outcome visitors will get from the download
- Keep file sizes reasonable and compress PDFs before uploading to ensure fast downloads on mobile connections
