The Booking Block turns your link in bio into a reservation engine. Visitors pick a date or time, fill in a short form, optionally pay a deposit or the full amount, and the booking lands in your calendar — all without an external booking platform. It handles hourly slots (rooms, equipment, services), daily reservations (hotels, vacation rentals, vehicle rentals), and multi-day windows (weekend retreats, courses with start dates). Connect Google Calendar, Outlook, or iCal so existing events block availability automatically and you never end up with a double-booking.
Use cases
Concrete patterns we see UniLink creators apply most. Pick the closest to your situation as a starting point.
Vacation rentals and short-term stays
Apartment, cabin, glamping site, beach house — accept booking requests with start and end dates, guest count, and a deposit through Stripe or WayForPay. The Booking Block respects minimum-stay rules and gap nights between guests, so the calendar stays operationally sane.
Equipment and vehicle rentals
Bikes, kayaks, photography gear, scooters, classic cars — let renters reserve by hour or day. The block prices automatically by duration and collects payment upfront so you never lose a booking to a no-show.
Studio and venue reservations
Photo studios, music rehearsal rooms, podcast studios, co-working desks, event venues — sell time blocks with optional add-ons (extra equipment, sound engineer, parking). Buffers between bookings give you a turnover window without manual juggling.
Workshops and class registrations
Multi-day workshops, weekend retreats, certification programs — visitors register for a specific cohort with limited seats. Inventory tracking removes filled cohorts automatically, so you never oversell.
How to add this block
From marketplace install to live on your link in bio. Each step takes seconds; the writing is what takes time.
- 1
Add the block to your page
Open the UniLink dashboard, choose the page that should accept bookings, and drag the block in from the marketplace. The default state is preview — no bookings until you finish setup.
- 2
Connect your calendar
Sync Google Calendar, Outlook, or iCal so existing events become unavailable slots. This prevents double-bookings without you manually blocking time after every personal meeting.
- 3
Define availability and slot length
Set the days and hours you accept bookings, the length of each slot, and any buffer between slots. Buffers prevent back-to-back exhaustion and give you a transition window.
- 4
Add intake questions or payment
Optionally collect a short form or upfront payment when someone books. For paid bookings, connect Stripe/PayPal in Settings → Payments first.
- 5
Publish and share the link
Publish the page, share the link in your bio or campaign, and watch confirmed bookings flow into your calendar. UniLink Analytics shows booking-to-show-up rate so you can spot drop-off.
Best practices that move the needle
Small changes in writing or curation that consistently improve conversion.
Show price upfront, not at checkout
If your service costs money, name the price near the booking button. Hidden pricing kills conversion — visitors who reach checkout and see an unexpected number tend to bounce.
Limit slot choices to reduce paralysis
Offering "any time you want" overwhelms visitors. Pre-filter to 6-12 sensible slots over the next two weeks. Bookings rise when the choice feels manageable.
Confirm by email AND SMS
No-shows drop sharply when you confirm by both channels. UniLink can trigger both automatically when a booking is made and 24h before the appointment.
Cancel policy in plain language
State your cancel window upfront ("free cancel 24h before, otherwise 50% charge"). Visitors who know the rule before booking are far less likely to no-show.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Booking Block in a link in bio?
A Booking Block is a reservation widget embedded on your link in bio page. Visitors pick a date or time range, fill in their details, optionally pay, and the reservation lands in your calendar. It works for hourly slots, daily check-in/check-out style bookings, and multi-day windows like courses or retreats.
How does it differ from the Appointments Block?
The Appointments Block is built for short, recurring time slots — typically 30-60 minute consultations, calls, or sessions. The Booking Block is built for longer stays or rentals — hours, days, or weeks — with check-in and check-out dates rather than precise time slots. Use Appointments for "book a 30-min call"; use Booking for "rent the cabin for 3 nights".
Can I require a deposit instead of full payment?
Yes. In block settings, set the deposit as a percentage or fixed amount. The Booking Block charges the deposit at reservation time and either charges the balance automatically on check-in or sends an invoice closer to the date. Choose whichever matches how you actually run the business.
Does the block prevent double-bookings?
Yes. Once a date or time slot is booked, it disappears from availability for everyone else. If you connect Google Calendar, Outlook, or iCal, existing events on those calendars also block availability — no need to manually mark personal time as unavailable.
Can I set minimum stay or buffer rules?
Yes. Common rules include minimum stay length (e.g., "weekends require 2 nights"), maximum advance booking ("can't book more than 6 months out"), and buffers between bookings ("at least 1 night gap for cleaning"). Configure these in block settings before publishing.
How do guests know their booking is confirmed?
UniLink sends a confirmation email immediately after a successful booking, with all the details and a calendar (.ics) attachment. You also receive a notification email and the booking lands in your dashboard. Optionally, SMS confirmations on PRO plans cut no-shows further.
Can I offer add-ons or upsells?
Yes. Each Booking Block supports optional add-ons — extra equipment, late checkout, breakfast, parking, etc. Visitors tick what they want at booking time and the total adjusts automatically. Add-ons are a low-effort way to lift average order value 15-30%.
