The Discount Block is a visual showcase for an active sale or offer — big bold percentage, clear product or category, optional countdown to expiry, single buy button. Where the Coupons Block surfaces codes that buyers apply, the Discount Block surfaces the discount itself: the price the buyer sees IS the discounted price, no code copying or input required. Use it during a focused sale period when you want maximum visual impact and zero friction between visitor and reduced price.
Use cases
Concrete patterns we see UniLink creators apply most. Pick the closest to your situation as a starting point.
Storewide percentage-off sales
Black Friday, anniversary, end-of-season — show "30% off everything" big and bold with a countdown to the end. The Discount Block applies the discount to all eligible products in your Shop Block automatically; visitors see reduced prices everywhere without typing a code.
Product-specific flash sales
One product on sale for 24-48 hours. The Discount Block highlights the specific item with original price crossed out, sale price prominent, and a clear timer. Flash sales convert because the urgency is real and visible.
Bundle and cross-sell discounts
Buy two products together, save 15%. The Discount Block frames the bundle deal visually so visitors immediately see the math working in their favor. Bundle discounts tend to lift average order value far more than equivalent percent-off-everything sales.
Member or subscriber-only offers
Newsletter subscribers, Patreon supporters, course alumni — restrict the discount to a specific audience by gating the Discount Block behind a member-only page. The audience feels recognized; conversion on these tighter audiences is typically 2-3x your general visitor rate.
How to add this block
From marketplace install to live on your link in bio. Each step takes seconds; the writing is what takes time.
- 1
Add the block from the marketplace
Open your UniLink dashboard, pick the page you want to sell on, and add the block from the marketplace. It appears empty so you can populate it with your own products or offers.
- 2
Connect your payment provider
UniLink supports Stripe, PayPal, WayForPay, and Fondy. Connect at least one in Settings → Payments so the block can collect money. Without this step the block is preview-only.
- 3
Add product details that sell
For each item, write a short outcome-led title, a benefit-led description, set the price, and upload at least one photo. Photos drive ~60% of conversion on link-in-bio commerce — invest in them.
- 4
Set inventory and shipping rules
If you ship physical goods, define shipping zones and rates. For digital and service products, mark them as "no shipping required" so the checkout skips the address step.
- 5
Publish and watch the dashboard
Hit publish and the block goes live. UniLink Analytics shows views, add-to-cart events, and revenue per product so you can iterate on what converts and what does not.
Best practices that move the needle
Small changes in writing or curation that consistently improve conversion.
One hero offer per block
Visitors decide in seconds. Lead with your strongest offer — bestseller, new launch, or biggest discount — and let the rest support it. A wall of equal items competes with itself.
Real photos beat stock every time
Phone-shot product photos out-convert generic stock images by 2-3x on link-in-bio. Visitors trust what looks real. Avoid stock unless you sell stock photography.
Price clearly, no hidden costs
List the all-in price including taxes where the law allows. Surprise costs at checkout are the #1 reason visitors abandon link-in-bio carts.
Test offers monthly
Rotate which offer leads the block every month. Track which version drives the highest revenue per visitor in Analytics. Stale offers go stale fast on social.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Discount Block in a link in bio?
A Discount Block is a visual section on your link in bio page that announces an active sale — typically with a large percentage (20% off, 50% off), the products or categories the discount applies to, an optional countdown to expiry, and a buy button. Unlike the Coupons Block, the discount is automatically applied to relevant products without the buyer needing to type a code.
How is it different from the Coupons Block?
The Coupons Block shows codes that buyers copy and paste at checkout — useful for tracking different sources or rewarding specific audiences with unique codes. The Discount Block applies the discount automatically to all matching products in your Shop, no code required. Use Coupons for tracked codes; use Discount for sitewide or category-wide automatic markdowns.
Can I run multiple discounts at once?
Yes. Add multiple Discount Blocks for different segments — "30% off apparel" + "Buy 2 candles, save 15%" + "Free shipping over $100". UniLink applies the most beneficial combination at checkout (or, configurably, only one discount per order, depending on your policy).
How does the countdown timer work?
Set a future date and time when the discount ends. The Discount Block displays a live countdown that updates in real time. When the timer hits zero, the block either disappears or transitions to a "missed it" state inviting visitors to subscribe for the next sale, depending on configuration.
Can I exclude specific products from the discount?
Yes. In block settings, select which products or categories the discount applies to. New launches, premium items, or already-discounted goods are commonly excluded. Visitors see strikethrough pricing only on items the discount actually applies to, avoiding confusion at checkout.
How do I drive traffic to a Discount Block?
Pair it with a Banner Block above announcing the sale, share the bio link in your stories with countdown stickers, and email your list with a clear deadline. The Discount Block converts the traffic; the marketing job is to get visitors to see it during the active window.
Is the Discount Block free on UniLink?
Basic discount functionality is included on free plans. PRO plans add advanced features like audience-segmented discounts, automatic A/B testing of discount levels, and detailed conversion analytics. For most merchants running occasional sales, the free tier is enough.
